Ali was a hit on television screens too. She was a part of several TV series, including A Man Called Hawk, Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show, Getting By, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood, Living Single, In the House, and many more. Ali's first big project was when she introduced Ashley Banks to life on the cult TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the year 1990. Starring alongside the actor Will Smith, the series was a huge hit. It was one of the top shows on NBC, ranking 12th among the most-watched programming from 1990 to 1992. It was also nominated for two Golden Globes.
